to Saxony, home of the river Elbe, the historic city of Dresden, beautiful scenery and picturesque villages. In Dresden, you will see the world famous, breathtaking Zwinger, the celebrated Semper Opera, and a number of excellent museums and restaurants.

To get the full Saxony experience, one must go out to see the small villages and countryside. An excellent destination would be Meissen, a historic town set on the bank of the Elbe. In Meissen one must visit the renowned China factory, the Albrecht castle, one of the mustsee sights of Saxony, as well as the historic district of the town.
Meissen is located just 30 minutes away from Dresden. Also located nearby is Moritzburg, a village with a beautiful hunting castle and museum.

Should you decide to visit Meissen, we would love to welcome you to the "Gauernitzer Hof", a Bed and Breakfast run by the Schwaebe family. Open since 1997, the Gauernitzer Hof has fully furnished suites with kitchen, bath and shower and a living room equipped with TV and radio. During summer month, you can play table tennis, badminton and go on a bicycle ride as well as enjoy a board game with the family in the evening. Also, we invite you to use the BBQ for a noontime or evening Bar-B-Que.
